you’re all that matters to me…
"…when there’s too many objects space suffers."
While I don’t agree with the concept of a home as an aesthetically neutral, empty space, I do understand the need of reducing the objects we bring into our life. Clutter (even lovely clutter) tends to weight on us, it holds us back. Even the things we keep that tell a story about who we are and our past can have a negative impact if we don’t allow new stories and memories to find their space. There’s mainly a false sense of security in acquiring objects.
Imagine you could start all over with an empty bedroom/house. Consider it. How would you feel if you had to select just a few items. Would you really miss everything you own from what’s on the walls to the stuff you keep hidden inside drawers you never open?
Trying to define yourself is like trying to bite your own teeth.
